About Me

My photo
Lisa Rainsong
I am a professional musician, educator, and naturalist. I study the songs of birds, insects and amphibians of NE Ohio and teach people not only to identify them, but also how to listen for their context and interactions. The more we hear of our natural world, the more deeply we will desire to protect its musicians and concert halls. I hope you enjoy sharing my annual journey through the constantly-changing musical texture of NE Ohio's woodlands, meadows, and marshes. There is always music in nature if we're listening. You can read about the educational programs I teach, and my fieldwork at https://www.listeninginnature.com. My online field guide to the crickets and katydids of NE Ohio is Listening to Insects and is found at http://listeningtoinsects.com.
